Find inspiration and a fresh perspective on the art of leadership in this account of a cub reporter who lands the interview of a lifetime and walks away with the keys to exceptional leadership. When the reporter meets with the most respected CEO in America, the businessman shares the seven secrets he learned long ago from his mentor--an eccentric but brilliant professor who taught him proven management principles that, while ancient in origin, are applicable in today's fast-paced, high-tech world.

Through this charming story dotted with humor, you'll learn how to infuse work with meaning and how to engage, energize, and ignite their workforce by using these same secrets, which include:

It will teach you how to lead the people close to you so they will view their work as a calling rather than merely a job, a place to belong rather than a place to work.

Notice Based On Books The Way of the Shepherd: Seven Secrets to Managing Productive People
This is one of the worst books Ive ever read. Business authors are sometimes the most pathetic at original content. Its condescending and blind for these authors to act like lifestyle gurus whove found common sense and then tote it like an ancient hidden proverb, newest invention of practical advice, or newfound jewel discovered. Boring book, sappy fake story, and advice I can find in my own experiences. Dont need no business CEO explaining this stuff to me I already know.

I had to read this book for work. This book brought so much inspiration to me! Wow! I think all educators should read this one! We truly need to know our sheep (students)! Building relationships with our students is the number 1 thing you can do as a teacher!! :)

This book was enlightening. It provides an amazing introduction about what it takes to be a leader and the investment you'll have to make if you want to be great. I was able to apply the 7 basic principles to my career and my parenting.I highly recommend it as an intro book to anyone looking to move up in their company.

One of the best leadership books written. Its heartwarming and practical. Also, its only 118 pages. I recommend this book for anyone in leadership.

I highly recommend! This was a quick read in the form of a narrative. Each chapter focuses on one of the seven secrets to managing people based on how a shepherd takes care of his sheep. Though the application was made to a supervisor over a team in his new job in the corporate world, this can also apply to every leadership opportunity I can think of parenting, pastoring, mentoring, leading a small group, leading anybody. If you have anyone you influence, especially in an authority situation

How do you write a management book? Choose your metaphor and let the analogies unfold. Business books based on military organizations and leaders, sports teams and stellar athletes, and historical figures and events fill the shelf. Leman reaches back to a pastoral occupation to draw out modern lessons on leadership. The author uses a story analogy: a business professor, who raises sheep on the side, mentoring a student by taking him out of the classroom and into the field, the grazing field. I'm

The Way Of The Shepherd by William Pentak and Dr. Kevin Leman was a joy to read and really made me think. It comes from an interview between Mr. Pentak and Mr. Theodore (Ted) McBride, then CEO of General Technologies. It's roots lay much deeper in training Mr. McBride had with one of his professors as he was first to become a manager. The nuggets of truth on how to care for and lead people are telling and reveal something about the shepherd analogies in the Bible.Take your time reading,
