Bent on revenge, he's going back to where he began--Blewer County, Texas...Born deaf, lately widowed, Anna Corbett fights to keep the ranch that is her son's birthright, unaware that she is at the center of Herbold's horrific scheme--and that her world of self-imposed isolation is about to explode...

This book is definitely not romance. I'm saying this because I see that most users tagged it as such. I would even go as far as to say that the main characters are not Anne and Jack but the psychopaths on the run Carl and Myron. There are many graphic descriptions of their killings, raping and torturing because the author forces you to live them through their POVs - and there are too many. These vivid descriptions of raping teens put Anne and Jack into the background so they seemed likeI put off reading this one for a long time as I saw some low reviews for it. I ended up really liking it. Carl Herbold has escaped from prison and he is heading back to Brewer County, hell bent on revenge. What a nasty character he was.Born deaf, lately widowed, Anna Corbett fights to keep the ranch that is her son's birthright, unaware that she is at the center of Herbold's horrific scheme. She lives a solitary life, with her son and father-in-law. But a handsome stranger arrives at the farm
This book is definitely not for the faint of heart, not so much horror gruesome but rape gruesome. I know that throws a lot people off coming from a female writer but I commend Mrs. Brown taking those kind of chances in her books. This wasn't my favorite book by her but I still enjoyed the read.
Another solid offering from Sandra Brown. I was riveted and engrossed from start to finish. My only gripe is the lack of an epilogue. Sandra Brown never feeds my need to know more :( I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Big Penis = Twoo Luvvvv! The second book Ive read from this author and were 2-for-2 on a penis length conversation that occurs between the hero and the single mother heroines young son (Hey, Ma? How come his thing is so ginormous?) In both instances it was an awkward discussion that made me squirm even though I knew it wasnt real; however, I would totally read another book by this author if only to determine whether this is part of her personal formula. And if not, maybe it should be because who
This was my first experience with Sandra Brown's work and I was really excited about reading Unspeakable. The author jumps right into the plot, setting the stage for an action packed story of revenge, redemption, and second chances. There was so much potential! So why was it so difficult to get through? Let's start with the problems first, that way we can end on a positive note. The main problem I had with the book surrounds the "evil" persona of the bad guys. With the exception of Myron's
2.5 stars. Strange book ~ part romance, part mystery, and part suspense set on a cattle ranch with a drifter showing up to help a young boy, his beautiful deaf mother and his gruff grandfather. (view spoiler)[Anna's photography made her more real and gave you hope for her future. Anna refusing to speak aloud after her husband's tragic death was a bit dramatic. Of course her new first word was predictable. David's refreshing and exuberant personality was sweet but exhausting. (hide spoiler)]I was
