Simon Sinek has something important to convey. He conveys it using three terms: “what,” “how,” and “why. There is a lot to support his asserting that when you sell your product or service based on “what,” your stakeholders may be less loyal to you. Beginning with “why” (something that gets at core values) will be more effective in the long run. Sinek’s points are grounded in psychology (how our brains find an affinity with ideas, people and, eventually, products or services). His book is of help to those who are involved, as I am, with purpose-driven organizations. I find that this summary version, though brief, is quite adequate to remind me of his logic and principles.
