Generally speaking this is a fun book about how they made the very popular film Moulin Rouge! I like how the book is very simple and very straight to the point about how they made decisions about the screenplay, editing, costume design, make up, etc. I feel at times it is needed to go into extreme detail depending on the film but for this particular movie I like how it was simplified. I also like that they had a lot of production photos from guest photographers so you really feel that you were there and all I thought that it was a nice touch for the big fans of this film.

I like this film but I wouldn’t say that I am a huge fan of it, but this book would definitely get a 5 stars from a huge fan of the film, so if you are the type of person who enjoys reading ‘’movie” books then I’d say you’ll like this fine but if you are a huge lover of the film you will definitely love this book!


I just want to say not related to this review but this COVID19 quarantine has made me go beyond my current target of number of books to read for 2020 I hope everyone is okay and are reading and praying!

I saw it last night. although there are so many diffrences between the book and the movie, but each one have some strong points that made it a "MUST" to read or see.

Of course 5 stars duh!

This Book was absolutely LOVEly haha. It really accompanies the movie well, nice flip open pages and well planed out chapters. AMAZING BOOK! AND DON'T FORGET! Love is a many, splended thing love, lift us up where we belong, all you need is LOVE!

Informative, interesting, and very beautiful. It details the journey the film took from concept to completion as well as the historical background of the real-life Moulin Rouge and its inhabitants. I learned a lot and it made me look at the movie musical I love in a new way. Also? It really is a gorgeous book. Coffee-table worthy, even.

This is a great accompaniment to the film. It's mostly pictures so don't expect a novel, but it's worth a purchase if you adore the film.

This story was so heart wrenching and I loved every minute of it. The characters were interesting and I loved all of the different class dynamics and incorporation of theater.
