Looking back at my review for Point of No Return I found that book to be a quick read with a lovely romance and a good light beach read. In this second book, all that has changed. Breaking Point is dark where Point of No Return was light. Told from Matt's POV, we watch as Matt struggles with the aftermath of Kira's abduction and torture one year after the first book. Ugh, this was intense.....Nearly twelve months after all that went down in the previous book, everything looks great. Kira and Matt are living together and Kira's parents took Matt into their hearts. But then Matt retires from the police force and instead starts a career as an MMA fighter, doing cage fights. Not an easy way to go and Matt just couldn't tell Kira all the real reasons for this decision. So Matt withdraws, he changes and he lies.......I hated HATED all the lies! I hated that Matt

I loved the original. The second book blows it out of the water (and me out of my mind).I love Kira. Always have. When Matt does...well, what Matt does, I wanted to pull Kira from the book and give him all kinds of love.Five stars wasn't enough for this book.

Matt is working undercover and lying to Kira about it. The guilt Matt is feeling is having a negative impact on their relationship. When all is revealed, Matt has to work on getting Kira's trust back. Off to book 3.
