Commentary Containing Books The Only Witness (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice #17)
Much like the others in the series. Simple, to the point, a good quick read.

This was just phemomenal

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are sent to Frego to protect a witness set to testify against the crime family of which she is a member. The Jedi are assigned to escort her to Coruscant, but she neglects to tell them that she actually has no hard evidence against her family, pissing off Qui-Gonn with the delay while allowing Obi-Wan to un-Jedi luxury of a romantic relationship. An interesting tale of betrayal, deception, and action.

2.5 starsThis was a fairly weak case/mission, but it continues to the story of Qui-Gon healing after the loss of Tahl and nearly losing himself to rage and grief. He still is holding himself apart from Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan is hurt by Qui-Gon shutting him out and grieving alone.Obi-Wan has a crush on their witness, but it does not impact the story overly much. (Praise be.)I really liked the ending scene.

A terrible read. Yes, I know it is a young readers' book. But as I have read all the other books in the series up to this one, I expected more of the average story telling from the other books. No, this was just flat-out bad.

This seemed more like a filler story, and also somewhat weaker than previous storylines. I really thought it would go in a different direction, so at least they fooled me?

Obi Wan and Qui Gonn are sent to a world controlled by a crime family to escort the Widowed wife of a Lieutenant in the crime family. The destination: Coruscant, so she can testify against the family in the Galactic courts.
