For two hearts destined to meet, the only passage is a journey through time...

Julia Brodie cannot understand why her Scottish cousin gave her a necklace, then insisted she not touch it until she got back to New York—until she tries on the beautiful purple garnet outside the Glasgow airport and wakes up in seventeenth-century Scotland. Rescued by Talon, a charming Scottish rogue with an uncanny ability to make her pulse race, she learns that magic has called her through time to perform a task.

Known as the Wizard, Talon MacClure can find anything thanks to a powerful amethyst ring—a jewel essential to his survival and one he must protect at all cost. But when the amethyst delivers him Julia, then sends them on a perilous mission that puts her in mortal danger, he begins to suspect he will risk everything for love...the greatest magic of all.

Discuss Out Of Books Amethyst Destiny (Jewels of Time #2)
I enjoyed the time travel aspect of a modern American woman being transported back to 1600's Scotland. My first read by this author, whom I hadn't heard of before. The writing was good, but some of the use of modern terms and how okay the hero was with it, seemed a bit too unbelievable. It was a fun, enjoyable read, but not one I'd keep on my favorites shelf. The use of magic was fun... but the demon the heroine's clan had to pay sacrifice to was a bit much for me. I enjoyed the magic of the

Wish we could give half stars - I'd really give this book 3.5 stars. I loved the main characters! Great humor and chemistry between them. They both had interesting backgrounds; and I loved the fact that the sexual tensions between them kept building, yet Julia wasn't a typical character that gave into Talon every time and she stood her ground. Good intrigue and adventure too; with an interesting twist of magic. Plus being based in Scotland all made for a fun read.

I get to read Pam's books first -- even before her editor does -- which makes me a very lucky reader. This is a wonderful follow up to Saphire Dream. If you love a good time-travel romance, historic Scotland, and a great adventure plot, this book needs to go on your to-be-read list right now.

Amethyst Destiny is a surprisingly emotionally captivating novel. While Julie Brodie and Talon McClure are driven by their pasts to become who they are today, they (mostly) let their emotions instead of their pasts guide their actions. I cannot help but go along on the roller coaster of time travel and romance that is their lives. And boy, what a ride it was! Talon, in particular, evokes very strong feelings as the hero of the story. His own past and his struggles to overcome it alone makes the

Amethyst Destiny is the second book in Montgomerie's time travel romance series and tells the story of Julia, a 21st century independent woman who has never needed anyone and suddenly finds herself in 1688 Scotland w/ her only hope being a charming, yet frustrating, man known as The Wizard. Overall, I enjoyed the story and it's characters, and loved watching the romance develop between the two main characters. It was fun to see how two people who felt they were better off alone came to find true

Really enjoyed Amethyst Destiny. Hope more Jewels of Time books will follow, there was no indication at the end of this story even with the references to the missing jewels and bringing them back. Hegarty has collected 3 stones, Sapphire (Sapphire Dream - Brenna), Amethyst and Purple Garnet (Amethyst Destiny - Talon and Julia), how many more? Nothing listed in upcoming releases for 2010 - 2011 : (

The first book in this series, "Sapphire Dream", is a fantastic read! "Amethyst Destiny" has a we Dream", is a fantastic read! "Amethyst Destiny" has a well-developed hero and heroine, but suffers from a sloppy ending. I think I need to go back and re-read the last few pages due to quick scene changes and choppy sentence structure. Still, this second book was a strong sequel.
