The book is actually seriously flawed in its argumentative part. But it does provide insight into German conservative mindset and once insight is gained, the view is not very pretty in the sense thatauthor is seemingly neither capable of understanding the drivers behind the current situation with immigrants in Germany nor to come to terms with it nor to suggest any meaningful more just system of upward (and downward!) social mobility that would ensure that millions and millions of immigrants nowno matter what he claims, the idea is eugenics. theres some sound ideas, but wanting to create a better human by controlling who will procreate has been dangerous before. so he cites myrdal, responsible for sweden having a huge sterilisationprogram in the 1930s.@eugenik=good; this is what we call an euphemism. a word sounding good to hide the evil inside.
I thought the book was thought provoking. long winded though. Definitely a must read. As there is no english version I believe a lot of the one and two star ratings are bogus.
in vielen punkten hat er recht - und bringt tatsächlich auch ein paar wirklich brauchbare ansätze hinsichtlich bildungs- und familienpolitik. der rest taugt nicht einmal zur verwendung zum hinternabwischen. 100 seiten hätten auch gereicht, um seine inhalte rüberzubringen. und hätten das ganze wahrscheinlich glaubwürdiger gemacht.http://bvsgruft.blogspot.com/2011/02/...
Das Buch mag zwar an einigen Ecken in die Jahre gekommen sein, nichtsdestotrotz ist es auch weiterhin relevant und Leser sollten bedenken, dass Sarrazin bewusst auf Polemik verzichtete und sehr gute Quellen genutzt und benannt hat.Als Diskussionsgrundlage ist es mehr als geeignet und man muss nicht alle Ideen von Sarrazin mögen (in Sachen Bildung sollten sich die Stadtstaaten mal einen Blick auf die Bildung der DDR werfen.
